Parents seek justice into veterinarian's death in hippo attack at zoo in Shivamogga

Shivamogga: The parents of veterinarian Sameeksha Reddy, who died in a hippopotamus attack in the zoo at Tyavarekoppa, held discussions with police officers.

Addressing media people, Shailaja Reddy, mother of Sameeksha said, “We have come to the police station to discuss with the officers as part of the investigation into the death of our daughter. The Shivamogga police are doing a good job in the investigation.”

She said, justice should be given to the death of our daughter. It should be known why she was sent there at late night without any security. “We cannot bring our daughter back. But such injustice should not be meted out to other veterinarians. Let veterinarians be given the opportunity to work with courage in the future.”

Dhruva Kumar, father of Sameeksha, said, “My daughter used to say that she would become a veterinarian ever since she was studying UKG. She was deeply in love with animals since childhood."

"Even though she had an opportunity to go overseas for higher education and work, she didn’t go. She always wanted to work for animals,” Sameeksha’s parents recalled.
