Although the Cell initially organised job fairs for rural students only, it later extended the facility to SSLC, PU and degree students as well. Within six months of its formation, the Cell placed nearly 347 candidates. <br /><br />At present, the Cell is in the process of collecting databases from various bodies for its upcoming placement season for B Tech graduates. <br /><br />Job aspirants can directly log on to the official website of the Cell. They can also call the helpline numbers to register for the placement drive.<br /><br />In addition to this, the Cell authorities have requested colleges to submit the details of students aspiring to take part in the placement session. The response from colleges, however, has not been very encouraging. So far, only about 40 colleges have submitted the details to the cell, sources said.<br /><br />Further, the lack of placement officers at a few rural engineering colleges has also been a roadblock for the authorities. To create awareness about its activities, the Cell will appoint nodal officers in five districts.
