Police notice to nine Hindu activists for attempting Shivratri puja inside Karnataka's Bahmani fort

Kalaburagi: The Kalaburagi police on Sunday took BJP leader Divya Hagaragi and several others into their custody after they tried to offer puja at Swayambhu Someshwar temple inside the Bahmani fort, without taking permission from the competent authority.

The police stopped Divya Hagaragi, the key accused in the SI recruitment scam, and others, at the entrance of the fort when they tried to enter the fort to offer special puja at the Someshwara temple on the occasion of Shivaratri.

ACP Shivanagouda patil appealed to the Hindu activists that they cannot offer puja without the permission of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) official as the Bahmani fort and the temple comes under the purview of ASI..

The activists staged a flash protest on the road in front of the fort. The police took them to their custody and released them later

The police released them later before issuing notices to nine persons involved in the incident. The police also issued notice to nine activists over the incident.
