Prof booked for 'misbehaving' with woman during PhD interview

 Ramesh Rathod, a professor of English at Gulbarga University, was on Thursday booked by police for “misbehaving” with a female student during the interview for admission to a PhD course.

In her complaint, the wo­man said she had been working as a guest lecturer in the English department for the past two years and had also taken the entrance exam for admission to the PhD course. “On June 7, when the interview was held, Rathod asked personal questions and misbehaved with me,” she said.

Superintendent of Police N Shashi Kumar said the matter would be investigated by the DySP concerned.
Registrar (Administration) Prof Dayanand Agasar said the woman had also lodged a complaint with Vice Chancellor S R Niranjana and that an enquiry had been launched.
