The District Police Control Room in Mangalore was damaged due to lightning.

Electronic equipment worth thousands of rupees have been reportedly damaged. Lightning has claimed two cattle in Kangibettu near Brahmavar in Udupi district.

Trains delayed

In the meantime, two trains departing from Mangalore Central were delayed due to the unexpected rains.
The Maveli Express (6603) stopped while it was passing through the Netravathi bridge near Ullal since it got disconnected from signals.

The train that left Mangalore Central at 5.40 pm, continued journey after 7.10 pm. Due to this, the Malabar Express (6630) was also delayed. The train was scheduled to leave the station by 6.15 pm, but it left at 6.50 pm.
