Excess water in the Narihalla stream has left a few villages in hobli limits cut off from the rest of the world.<br /><br /></p>.<p>A few roads like Sharadanagar-Devalapur, Jeeriganuru-Hampadevanahalli-Gonalu and Jeeriganuru-Ballapur in Ballari taluk are submerged in the floodwater from the overflowing Narihalla.<br /><br />The paddy fields in the locality are indundated and the crops have been washed away. With a swelling Narihalla flowing adjacent to Sharadanagar, the residents are worried over the impending floods. <br /><br />The inundated roads and the swelling streams remind us of the 2009 floods, said Lokesh, a former gram panchayat president.<br /><br />Struck by lightning<br /><br />A woman labourer was struck by lightning at Mincheri village in Ballari taluk on Thursday evening.Shivagangamma, 26, was returning home from a field where she was working, when the incident occured.
