Shettar predicts collapse of coalition govt

Last Updated 30 October 2018, 20:16 IST

BJP leader and MLA Jagadish Shettar has predicted that the party will have 105 seats in the Legislative Assembly with the victory of Jamkhandi seat byelection and the government will collapse following the political change.

He told reporters, "We will surely reach the magic number required for the formation of BJP government in the election. This is my prediction. You can take this down."

Reacting to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's statement that he has a suspicion that BJP leaders B S Yeddyurappa and Shettar are astrologers, Shettar said, "I am predicting from my experience in politics. Earlier too, my prediction on Cabinet expansion proved true. Now, this prediction will also prove to be true. I won't go to astrologers like (JD-S supremo) Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy."

Shettar said Congress leader Siddaramaiah, who was defeated in Chamundeshwari and won from Badami with a thin margin of 1,500 votes, has no moral right to go to the people. He should stop speaking lightly about Sreeramul and Janardhana Reddy."
