She promised the government was committed to providing free power to farmers and would continue to do so, even at the cost of increased costs.<br /><br />The engineers are ready to be transferred, but the government has come out with a uniform policy on transfers, President of the Engineers Association L Ravi said.<br /><br />Deterrent<br /><br />Quoting examples, Ravi said a one year posting to Gulbarga would be extended for three years or more and this deterred engineers. <br /><br />He also called for imparting better communication skills to linemen, as they interacted with customers more than engineers.</p>
