SIT files supplementary charge sheets in Munirathna cases

Bengaluru: he Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka police has filed supplementary charge sheets in two cases related to BJP MLA Munirathna.

Top police sources confirmed to DH that the supplementary charge sheets were filed before the Special Court for MLAs/MPs in cases where the MLA from RR Nagar is accused of hurling casteist abuses, rape, voyeurism, and attempting to spread a dangerous disease, among other charges.

"The supplementary charge sheets contain further evidence and witnesses to bolster the SIT’s case,” a top police source said.

Apart from Munirathna, Ayyanna Reddy, an arrested police inspector from the Hebbagodi station, and the MLA’s two associates, P Srinivas and Sudhakar, were named in the charge sheets.

The SIT was formed in September 2024 after the slew of allegations against the MLA were made public by the victims.
