<p>Shivamogga: Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan stated that the Centre has provided the necessary support to establish a state-of-the-art and well-equipped sound recording unit at the proposed FM radio station in Shivamogga, complementing the existing organised radio station in Bhadravathi.</p><p>He participated in the installation and puja ceremony of a high-frequency transmitter imported from Canada, at the Doordarshan relay centre near MRS in the City, on Thursday. The high-frequency transmitter is intended for the launch of FM radio.</p><p>Addressing a simple gathering later, Murugan emphasised that all radio stations in the country are being developed to meet public expectations.</p><p>Support will be provided to develop the FM radio station as per the request of MP B Y Raghavendra.</p><p>MP B Y Raghavendra said the Bhadravathi station currently has a one-kW transmitter. The new broadcasting centre in the City will feature a 10 kW transmitter from Canada, equipped with advanced technology at a cost of Rs 10 crore, allowing radio access within a 100 km radius without data cables, and enabling FM programmes to be heard on mobile phones.</p><p>"The launch of FM in Shivamogga during Bhadravathi Radio's diamond jubilee is a positive sign," he said.</p><p>He added that radio not only serves as a news medium but also as an entertainment platform that connects with people, he added.</p><p>Shivamogga City MLA S N Channabasappa, MLA Araga Jnanendra, MLCs Dhananjay Sarji, D S Arun, former MLA KB Ashok Nayak, All India Radio divisional head Sanjeev, Deputy Director Raghu, programme co-ordinator Subray Bhat along with All India Radio officials and dignitaries, were present.</p>
