Take steps for success of school admission campaign: Karnataka Minister to DCs, ZP CEOs

Bengaluru: School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa has written to deputy commissioners (DCs) of all districts and chief executive officers (CEOs) of Zilla Panchayats (ZPs), requesting them to take necessary measures for the success of the admission campaign launched at government
schools.

In the letter, the minister said, “Our government has initiated various measures to strengthen the government schools. In recent days, parents are getting positive opinions on the government schools after attending the state-level parent-teacher meetings and realising the facilities and quality education available at government schools.”

Efforts appreciated

Appreciating the efforts by the deputy commissioners and chief executive officers of Zilla Panchayats in implementing the admission campaign, the minister further requested them to follow the particular guidelines
issued.

In the letter to these district-level officials, he urged them to ensure that no single child is left out of the school.

“Visit every household in the rural areas in coordination with the School Development and Monitoring Committees (SDMCs) and convince the parents to admit their children to the government schools,” the minister vmentioned in the
letter.

“Create WhatsApp groups of alumni of the schools with the help of SDMCs and take their support to increase admissions,” he advised
them.
