Third FIR against woman who ‘cheated’ people claiming to be D K Shivakumar’s sister

Bengaluru: In yet another cheating case against Aishwarya Gowda, a doctor has alleged that she borrowed Rs 5 crore from her and cheated her. 

This is the third cheating case against Aishwarya in less than 20 days. All victims claimed she had introduced herself as the sister of Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and his brother and former MP DK Suresh. 

Chandra Layout police arrested Aishwarya on December 24 following a cheating complaint filed by a jeweller. However, she obtained bail from the high court on January 1. 

Dr Manjula A Patil, an obstetrician and gynaecologist at a private hospital in western Bengaluru, alleged that Aishwarya cheated her out of gold and cash worth Rs 5 crore, that she had lent her between March 2022 and December 2024. 

RR Nagar police have booked Aishwarya, her husband Harish K and two others under BNS sections dealing with criminal breach of trust, cheating, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy. 

According to the FIR, Aishwarya befriended Manjula in 2020 in the hospital where she worked, and claimed to be into real estate, gold and finance and casino businesses. In 2022, she borrowed some money from Manjula and returned it on time. 

"After that she kept borrowing money and had taken gold ornaments as an investment worth Rs 5 crore from me,” Manjula told the police. 

According to the FIR, Aishwarya, after walking out of jail on January 1, called Manjula and asked her to refrain from filing any cheating case. She allegedly threatened the doctor by using the names of Shivakumar and Suresh. 

Police have launched a probe into the allegations levelled by the doctor against Aishwarya.
