<p>Kudligi (Vijayanagara district): Former minister B Sriramulu has refuted the rumours that he would quit the BJP to join the grand old party Congress. He said he has a lot of love and regard for the party and seniors in the party want him to be in the party, he added.</p><p>Speaking to reporters at Kanahosahalli in the taluk on Friday, he said, there is a communication gap in the party that created confusion among some leaders. Seniors in the party will set right this issue, he added.</p><p>Indirectly referring to the difference of opinion between him and Janardhan Reddy which led to rumours that he would quit the party, Sriramulu said: “Janardhana Reddy is a fellow party worker, not a senior. The party seniors have said I should remain in the party, so I will not leave the party.”</p><p>“Yatnal, Ramesh Jarkiholi and Sudhakar are all talking about some individuals and have not spoken against the party. The party organisation is possible only with their presence. Such a situation has been created due to the lack of communication. I am confident that the party seniors will solve this,” said Sriramulu.</p><p>“B S Yediyurappa is an unquestionable leader. We all worked under his leadership. It is everyone’s wish that Vijayendra should also take everyone into confidence like him,” he said.</p><p><strong>‘I am also an aspirant’</strong></p><p>“I am also an aspirant for the party president’s post. But there is an election system in the party. Whatever happens, the decision of the seniors is final. I have never asked for a Rajya Sabha seat. </p><p>“However, I have asked for it if there is an opportunity. I will be happy if it is given,” Sriramulu said.</p><p>“I spoke emotionally that I will contest from the Kudligi constituency, but it is not a firm decision. </p><p>“There are five reserved constituencies in Akhand Ballari, and I have received invitations from everywhere. However, my goal for the next three years is to strengthen the party. Ultimately, the party seniors will decide whom to give the ticket,” Sriramulu said.</p><p><strong>‘People gave a reply’</strong></p><p>“Janardhana Reddy may have spoken about me in a singular manner. The people of the state have given a reply to that,” he said.</p><p>“The Congress party may have invited me as there is no place for me in the BJP. They are all our contemporaries. They have been in politics for 30 years and fought together. But I will not accept their invitation and shall not leave the party,” he said.</p><p><strong>‘Ready to become CM’</strong></p><p>“We are all going to try together for the party to come to power in 2028. I am also ready to become the chief minister if the party wants,” he added.</p>
