<p>A 70-year-old woman committed suicide by setting herself ablaze on a pyre prepared by her in Tylur village near Maddur on Tuesday night.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The deceased has been identified as Chikkatayamma (70). According to police, she doused herself with kerosene and set herself on fire on the pyre she had made.<br /><br />She had even readied the items required for performing last rites. The incident came to light after neighbours observed fire in front of the house of Chikkatayamma.<br /><br />Ranganath, the son of Chikkatayamma has lodged a complaint stating that his mother committed suicide dejected over life, police said.</p>
