Discharge of Kejriwal a setback to BJP as well as Congress: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the discharge of Delhi former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia from the liquor policy scam case is a setback for the BJP as well as the Congress.

Vijayan said in a statement that while the BJP government at the centre was misusing central agencies against non-BJP ruled states, the Congress was helping the BJP by raising baseless charges against Kejriwal.

Congress leaders of Delhi had first raised the liquor policy allegations against Kejriwal in 2022. While Sisodia was arrested the Congress supported it and also sought the arrest of Kejriwal too. Hence the discharge of Kejriwal and Sisodia was a setback to both BJP and Congress, said Vijayan.

Vijayan spoke to Kejriwal over phone following his discharge from the case.
