Kerala IB officer's death: Police suspect personal issues

Thiruvananthapuram: Personal issues suspected, prima facie, to be the reason behind the death of an immigration official at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, even as her family raised suspicions over the incident.

Megha Madhusoodanan,25, who was working a immigration assistant at the Bureau of Immigration, was found dead on the railway track at Chakai near the airport on Monday morning. She joined service hardly a year back.

Based on a loco pilot's version and preliminary medical reports, police assume that she ended life by suicide. Strained relationships with a youth, who is also said to be working in the immigration wing, was suspected to be the provocation.

However, her family suspects some foul play as they were unaware of any personal issues she faced. They have sought a detailed probe into the incident. The intelligence bureau is also inquiring into the incident.
