Sabarimala gold loss case: SIT questions Congress MP Adoor Prakash

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress MP from Kerala Adoor Prakash was quizzed by the special investigation team probing the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple gold heist on Saturday.

Prakash, who is also convenor of opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front, was summoned by the SIT to the police headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram and his statement recorded.

Prakash as well as Congress MP Anto Antony were seen in pictures of the Sabarimala gold heist key accused Unnikrishnan Potti and Bellary-based jeweler Gowardhan visiting AICC leader Sonia Gandhi in Delhi. Prakash was quizzed to know about his connection with Potti.

Prakash later told reporters that he gave clear replies to all questions of the SIT and he had nothing to hide. They wanted to know about Potti. No enquiries were made about financial dealing.

Even as Potti was also learnt to be summoned by the SIT, Prakash said that there was no joint quizzing.

Congress alleged that the quizzing of Prakash was politically motivated. CPM could be using it to counter the Congress's campaign against CPM over the temple gold heist.

Anto Antony is also likely to be quizzed by the SIT.
