Ajit Pawar plane crash | Nephew Rohit seeks removal of Aviation minister till probe is completed

This is the third press conference by Ajit Pawar on this issue - two earlier being in Mumbai and New Delhi - and follows the demand of NCP led by deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar for a CBI probe into the incident.

Mumbai: In a fresh development vis-a-vis the Baramati Learjet crash, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar on Wednesday demanded that Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu be removed from his post until the probe into Maharashtra deputy chief minister and NCP president Ajit Pawar's air accident is completed.

Besides, Rohit Pawar also wanted to know as to why no action has been taken so far against VSR Ventures Pvt Ltd, the charter company.

He also reiterated the charge that the plane was carrying extra fuel tanks.

“We demand that a high-level monitoring committee should be constituted, and this committee should include former bureaucrats, former judges, the Lok Sabha’s leader of opposition and family members. Probe should be monitored by this committee,” said Rohit Pawar, the nephew of Ajit Pawar.

Rohit Pawar said that while the black box of the aircraft that carried Ajit Pawar has been received and is in bad shape due to heat as per the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, experts point out that the black box cannot be destroyed in high heat.
