<p>Mumbai: Former <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/maharashtra">Maharashtra</a> minister Prof Tanaji Sawant’s son who went “missing” from Pune returned past midnight. However, several questions on the abduction scare still remain answered.</p><p>The statement of Rishiraj Sawant (30), who is based in Pune, would be recorded by the police. </p><p>Rishiraj along with his two friends had booked a chartered plane for Bangkok, however, the plane was tracked and forced to return. </p><p>In a joint press conference on Tuesday, Dr Sawant, who is an MLA from Solapur district, and Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma confirmed this. </p><p>“They have not informed home after their visit. They have headed for Bangkok…a total of three people were there…Rishiraj and two others. They have returned to Mumbai,” said Sharma. </p><p>“The earlier information that we had is that he had been kidnapped. Accordingly, an FIR was registered. We got information that two to three people took him. Later, he was seen at the Pune Airport after which we made necessary checks,” added Sharma. </p>.Major tourism boost to Maharashtra's Lonar as govt plans to hold tourism festival every year, starting 2025.<p>The Sinhagad Road police station lodged the FIR and roped in the Crime Branch for the investigations. </p><p>Dr Sawant said that there is no dispute in the family. “We were worried that he had left without any communication,” he said, adding that just a week ago he had been to Dubai. “This worried us…we were eager…there is no dispute…we speak to each other every day 10 to 15 times,” he said, adding that as a father he was worried. “He has not informed me, his wife or his brother. The driver told us,” he said. </p><p>In fact, a worried Dr Sawant spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is also the state home minister and Pune MP and union minister of state for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol. </p><p>The chartered flight, in which the trio were travelling had reportedly reached over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and was asked to return to Chennai and from there to Mumbai. </p><p>The investigations were looking at many issues like possible disputes within the family, who the two friends are and their identities, any foul play or abduction angle and why a chartered flight was taken instead of a regular flight. </p><p>According to some reports, the chartered flight cost around Rs 60 to 70 lakh, however, there is no independent confirmation on this. </p>
