NCP (SP) to protest against rise in fuel prices, inflation, unemployment; accuses BJP of burdening common people

Mumbai: The Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) will hold a massive morcha on Wednesday at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai, to protest against the continuous burden being imposed on common citizens through rising fuel prices, inflation, unemployment and the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Maharashtra.

The protest march will be led by NCP (SP) Working President and Member of Parliament Supriya Sule, along with state President Shashikant Shinde, senior leaders Jayant Patil, Jitendra Awhad, Rohit Pawar, and several other prominent leaders and office-bearers of the party.

The agitation aims to draw the attention of the Union government towards the recent increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG, which has further aggravated the financial distress of ordinary families already struggling under the weight of inflation and stagnant incomes.

NCP (SP) Spokesperson Mahesh Tapase stated that while fuel prices continue to rise and the cost of essential commodities has become unbearable for middle-class families, workers, farmers, small traders and youth.

At the same time, unemployment remains a serious concern, and citizens across Maharashtra are increasingly worried about the rise in crime and the declining sense of public safety.

Speaking about the upcoming protest, Tapase said, “The people of India are being squeezed from all sides. Every hike in petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG prices directly impacts household budgets and pushes the cost of living higher."

"While citizens are struggling to make ends meet, the governments at the Centre and in the State appear disconnected from the hardships faced by ordinary families. Rising unemployment and increasing crime have only added to the public’s frustration. This Morcha is the voice of every citizen who feels ignored, overburdened and betrayed by policies of the BJP.”

Tapase informed that thousands of party workers, youth, women, farmers, labourers, transport operators, small business owners and concerned citizens will participate and make the agitation a powerful democratic expression of public sentiment.
