Pahalgam terror attack | Maharashtra govt announces Rs 50L compensation, govt jobs for kin of those killed from state

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Tuesday approved a Rs 50 lakh compensation to the families of the six victims from the state who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on tourists in the meadows of Pahalgam.

Besides, the government also assured one government job to each of the families.

The decision was taken at the weekly Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.

“The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the families from Maharashtra who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack. The state will also bear the expenses on education of children of the deceased. Besides, the government will give one job to those in the families who have no other earning member,” Fadnavis said.

The victims from Maharashtra are Atul Mone, Hemant Joshi and Sanjay Lele, who hail from Dombivli in Thane district, Dilip Desale, a resident of New Panvel in the Raigad district and Santosh Jagdale and Kaustubh Ganbote, both from Pune.
