<p>Mumbai: In an unprecedented incident, supporters of NCP (SP) MLA Dr Jitendra Awhad and BJP MLC Gopichand Padalkar clashed in the Vidhan Bhavan complex on Thursday.</p><p>Taking a serious note of the incident, Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar and Legislative Council Chairperson Prof Ram Shinde have called for the details of the incident. </p><p>“What has happened is wrong. Such an incident is not proper,” Maharashtra Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/devendra-fadnavis">Devendra Fadnavis</a> said.</p><p>According to him, the Vidhan Bhavan complex comes under the jurisdiction of Speaker and Chairperson and they have taken serious cognizance of the issue. </p><p>“Surely strong action must be taken for what had happened,” said Fadnavis, who is also the state Home Minister and Law & Judiciary Minister. </p><p>“I have called for a report…once that is received further action would be taken,” said Narwekar. </p><p>Over the last couple of days, there has been an exchange of words between Dr Ahwad and Padalkar. </p>.Fadnavis says 'you have scope to come to our side' as Uddhav and Shinde come together for a photo-op.<p>Dr Awhad (61), a two-term MLC and four-term MLA from Mumbra-Kalwa in Thane district, who had been a minister in the Democratic Front and Maha Vikas Aghadi governments, is considered close to NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar. </p><p>Padalkar (43), a Dhangar community leader, is a first-time MLA and a former MLC.</p><p>Earlier in the day, Awhad posted a WhatsApp message on his X handle: “This message came to me while I was at Vidhan Bhavan just now… What’s going on in Maharashtra?”</p>.<p>The development took place a day after an exchange of words between the two legislators.</p><p>Reacting to the development, a visibly agitated and upset Dr Awhad shot back: “Who has attacked…tell me…everything is clear…the entire Maharashtra has seen it. What is happening?”</p><p>“Unparliamentary language is being used…why don’t you make this an official language,” he said, adding that it is shocking that people accused under Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act are coming here. “They want to attack me…it was their plan,” he said, adding that he was not in the complex when the incident took place. </p><p>Padalkar said that he regrets what has happened. “I will discuss with my party superiors and then speak on this,” he said. </p><p>State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule summoned Padalkar for discussions. </p>
