When will government hang mastermind of Pahalgam attack: NCP (SP)

Mumbai: Launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led NDA dispensation at the Centre, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) wanted to know when the government will hang the mastermind of the Pahalgam terrorist attack on tourists.

“Even after a year, the BJP government at the the Centre failed to bring perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack to book,” said NCP (SP) spokesperson Mahesh Tapase

Raising serious concerns over national security and the government’s diplomatic priorities, Tapase questioned the Union government on the status of justice to the families of victims of Pahalgam attack.

“When will the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack Sajid Jutt be hanged?” he wanted to know.

Tapase further questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to utilise his reported 40-minute recent telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump to exert diplomatic pressure on Pakistan for Jutt's extradition.

“Such high-level engagements can yield tangible outcomes in matters of national security. Mere conversations without results raise serious questions about India’s global diplomatic effectiveness,” Tapase stated.

Responding to BJP’s agitation targeting opposition parties over the Narishakti Vandan Adhiniyam, Tapase strongly criticised the ruling party for its selective outrage. He said the BJP has turned a blind eye to the ongoing atrocities against women in Manipur while attempting to politically weaponise the women’s reservation issue.

“The BJP is shedding crocodile tears as they wanted to increase the seats in parliament to 850 in the garb of the women’s reservation bill. The India alliance sensed this, and the BJP failed to execute its plan,” said the spokesperson for Sharad Pawar’s party.
