Mahua Moitra says was harassed aboard flight, faced 'Jai Shri Ram, TMC chor' chants

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Thursday alleged harassment by a group of men aboard an IndiGo flight to Delhi.

Moitra mentioned that she was travelling to the national capital for official work to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence.

In a post on X, she named the airline saying, "ALERT! i travelled to Delhi today on official work to attend meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. Was on seat 1F on 6E 719. 4-6 men boarded in a group & leered at me & went to back of plane."

"When flight landed & before doors opened this is what they did & filmed it. This is no “citizen anger”. This is harassment & violates my safety in an aircraft."

She added, "No way that these louts can get away with this harassment inside an airplane. @IndiGo6E find your crew report, name & shame them & put on no flynlist @RamMNK please take action. @MamataOfficial @yadavakhilesh @RahulGandhi @ArvindKejriwal @mkstalin"

The TMC leader alleged that a group of 4-6 men boarded the aircraft and 'leered' at her before moving to the back of the plane.

The incident escalated after the aircraft landed as Moitra claimed that the group began filming her without consent even before the cabin doors opened.

She tagged Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, demanding that the 'louts' be identified and placed on the no-fly list.

Moitra also urged IndiGo to find the crew report and 'name and shame' the individuals involved.

The post has been doing rounds on social media where she also tagged TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and M K Stalin.
