<p>The High Court on July 20 reinstated the stringent provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the accused.<br /><br />A special MCOCA court last year dropped charges under the tough anti-crimes act against the accused following which the case was transferred to a sessions court in Nasik.<br /><br />The High Court had directed the special MCOCA court to hear and decide the bail pleas filed by the three accused within three months.<br /><br />The accused – Purohit, arms dealer Rakesh Dhawade and Ajay Rahirkar – were on Friday produced before the court, which said it would hear the bail pleas on August 2. Meanwhile, two more accused Dayanand Pandey and Jagdish Mhatre also filed their bail pleas on Friday. The prosecution has been directed to file their replies.<br /><br />Seven people were killed in a bomb blast on September 29, 2008, at Malegaon, a communally-sensitive textile town in Nasik.</p>
