<p>To ensure seamless transportation of buses, the Ministry of Road Transport is working on giving a national permit to tourist buses on the line of trucks.</p>.<p>As per the proposal, bus operators have to pay an annual fee which will help them to ply across the country.</p>.<p>At present, operators have to obtain a separate permit to ply tourist buses and have to pay permit charges in each state the bus enters.</p>.<p>The operators had earlier demanded the Centre to introduce an all-India permit system for tourist buses.</p>.<p>The ministry is planning to collect Rs 3 lakh per annum for air-conditioned buses and Rs 2 lakh for non-ac buses ferrying more than 23 passengers, an official said.</p>.<p>A notification in this regard is expected soon, the official added.</p>
