<p> The UPA government has constituted a special task force under Union home secretary to keep a constant vigil on the Delhi gang-rape case, apart from ensuring safety of women in the capital.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The task force came into existence following a commitment made by Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde in Parliament to pacify agitated MPs, two days after the December 16 incident. <br /><br />He had assured the Lok Sabha that the task force will take into consideration suggestions made by the members. <br /><br />The task force will consists of several senior officers of the Delhi government and the police, including the chief secretary, commissioner of police, special commissioner of police (traffic) and Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women, the home ministry said in an official release on Tuesday. <br /><br />The ministry has left it to the task force to co-opt any such member it deems fit. “The task force will consider suggestions made by Parliamentarians during the debate.<br /><br /> It shall also continuously review action taken by the Delhi government and the police,” the release stated.<br /><br /></p>
