<p>External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took a dig at her now-former Pakistani counterpart, Sartaj Aziz, as she ordered Indian visa for a Pakistani citizen for medical treatment.<br /><br />“Kya aap jaise serious case mein bhi Sartaj Aziz sahib ne chitthi dene se mana kr diya? (Did Sartaj Aziz refuse recommendation letter even to a serious patient like the one you mentioned?” Sushma replied to a tweet by a Pakistani woman using the Twitter handle Hijaab Asif.<br /><br />A Pakistani woman had sought Sushma’s intervention to get an Indian visa for someone to get treatment for a liver ailment.<br /><br />Aziz was Sushma's counterpart in the Pakistan government till the resignation of Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister of the country on Friday. He was an advisor on foreign affairs to Sharif. It is not sure if he would continue to hold the same position after Nawaz’s brother Sehbaz Sharif would succeed as prime minister.<br /><br />Over the last few months, New Delhi has restricted grant of visas to Pakistan citizens seeking to undergo medical treatment in India, particularly after a military court in Pakistan sentenced Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former navy officer, to death.<br /><br />New Delhi had been insisting that applications for visas for citizens of Pakistan to come to India seeking medical treatment must be accompanied by a recommendation from Aziz.</p>
