<p>Chennai: 19-year-old S Chandru, grandson of DMK councillor K Dhanasekaran, has surrendered to the Chennai City police for his role in intentionally running over a two-wheeler with his car, leading to the tragic death of a college student. </p><p>Dhanasekaran is a senior functionary of the DMK in Chennai and chairman of the Accounts Committee, Greater Chennai Corporation. The speeding car, coming from the opposite direction, struck their two-wheeler, causing both to fall on the road, with Nithin Sai losing his life instantly. </p><p>When their other two friends realized Sai and Abhishek were missing, they returned to find Sai dead and Abhishek grievously injured. Nithin Sai’s friends told police that their group had a rivalry with another student gang and suspected they were deliberately targeted.</p>
