DMK to launch seat-sharing talks with allies from February 22

Chennai: DMK on Tuesday night announced that it will launch seat-sharing talks with alliance partners from February 22, hours after its ally Congress expressed concern over the delay in constituting the committee.

In a statement, the DMK said since Chief Minister M K Stalin and his cabinet colleagues are busy in preparing the interim budget to be presented on February 17, it has been decided to launch political work after the exercise.

The statement also said party functionaries are involved in several election related activities, including door to door campaign, and preparing election manifesto.

“The talks with alliance partners will begin on February,” the statement added.

The announcement from the DMK came after the Congress demanded immediate constitution of the committee.
