<p>Hyderabad: Jagityal police in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/telangana/telangana-cyber-security-arrests-5-linked-to-chinese-fraud-syndicate-in-cambodia-3952890">Telangana </a>are investigating a violent incident in which a Muslim father and his minor son were allegedly assaulted by a group of saffron-clad men who accused them of selling beef in their village.</p><p>The incident occurred in Varshakonda village, Jagtial district, on Wednesday evening where Mohammad Iqbal Qureshi, 60, and his minor son, Mohammad Anas Qureshi, 16, were transporting meat in a small container when they were attacked by the mob.</p><p>Anas sustained a fractured hand in the assault and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A case has since been registered at the Metpally Police Station. Videos circulating online showed the mob chanting "Jai Shivaji," "Jai Sri Ram," and "Jai Bhavani." Both victims received medical treatment and have since been discharged. Police have identified four to five of the suspects and believe more than 15 individuals were involved in the incident.</p><p>Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), leader Amjed Ullah Khan, has strongly condemned the attack. He said that the victims resident of Mortad Village of Nizamabad District who were engaged in their routine work of selling beef, were allegedly attacked by a group of individuals identified as Hanuman Bhakts, dressed in saffron/orange attire. The mob reportedly tied both father and son to a pillar near the Gandhi statue at the local bus stand and mercilessly assaulted them.</p>.Hyderabad: Man held for 'indecent acts' at temple; BJP, Hindu outfits protest.<p>Khan termed the incident as a “mob lynching-style attack”, stating that such acts, which were previously reported in northern states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Bihar, are now increasingly occurring in Telangana.</p><p>He expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and said that despite the Home, Law & Order portfolio being held by Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy himself, such repeated incidents reflect a failure to ensure safety and security for minorities.</p><p>“In several incidents, mobs of 100–150 individuals are involved, but only 2–5 arrests are made, allowing the majority of accused to go scot-free,” he said. Khan claimed that over 50 communal incidents have taken place in the last 25 months under the current government.</p>
