<p>Hyderabad: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will be reviewing the crowd control measures in place at the Tirumala temple. Following the stampede incident on January 8 in Tirupati, during which six devotees who were waiting for tokens for Vaikunta Dwaa Darshanam were killed, MHA has stepped in to address the lapses in crowd control and security arrangements.</p><p>MHA's Additional Secretary (Disaster Management), Sanjeev Kumar Jindal, would conduct a crucial review meeting with the TTD management on January 20, 2025. Immediately, all of them were shifted to SVRRGG Hospital, Tirupati. The duty doctor examined them and declared them dead,” said one of the FIRs.</p><p>They waited for more than 12 hours to receive a coupon from TTD, hoping to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara on Vaikunta Ekadasi, an auspicious day according to Hindu mythology. The government had announced Rs 25 lakh ex gratia to the families of the deceased. A few others who sustained multiple fractures remain in the hospitals.</p>
