<p>Guwahati: After evading arrests for more than 10 years, three accused in the multi-crore chit fund scam in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/tripura">Tripura </a>have landed in the net of CBI.</p><p>The three, hailing from South Assam's Hailakandi district, were arrested by the CBI from Hyderabad, Assam's Hojai town and in Vellore in Tamil Nadu, CBI said on Friday. </p><p>Minnatullah Barbhuyan and Kamrul Islam--both directors of Kama (Indian) Projects and Services Limited were arrested from Hyderabad and Hojai and Imdadullah Barbhuiya was taken into custody in Vellore. </p> .Ready to stay out of power in Tripura if promises not fulfilled: Tipra Motha supremo.<p>The cases were first registered by Tripura police in 2013 and 2014 and were re-registered by the CBI in March 2023. </p><p>The cases were first registered at West Agartala police station, Kumarghat police station and Teliamura police station to investigate the allegations of collection of huge money from public and investors assuring huge profit or return without having any authority from SEBI, RBI and other authorities. Thus the operators of the company misappropriated the money. </p><p>The CBI on Friday said during investigation it came to light that prime accused Minnatullah and Islam and the co-accused Imdadullah, had not joined the investigation in the case and were absconding since long. A non-bailable warrant was issued by a special CBI court in Agartala to apprehend them for investigation. </p><p>The three were caught on Thursday and were produced in the court, the CBI said in a statement.</p> .<p>The chit-fund scams in Tripura, Bengal and Assam had led to widespread protests in 2013-14 and had even become an issue during elections in the three states. </p>
