'We will be safe if our religion is safe': Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath

In an apparent reference to Akhilesh Yadav’s recent remark that a true saint spoke less and always worked for the welfare of the people, CM said that a true saint could not remain indifferent to the situation that prevailed in the country and society.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that the people must always keep the nation above everything and their work should be in accordance with the values of the ‘Sanatan Dharma’.

‘’Every work should be done for the country… the religion will be safe if the country is safe… if religion is safe then we will be safe,’’ Adityanath said while speaking at a function organised on the occasion of 100 years of Vihangam Yoga Sant Samaj, in Varanasi.

In an apparent reference to Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav’s recent remark that a true saint spoke less and always worked for the welfare of the people, CM said that a true saint could not remain indifferent to the situation that prevailed in the country and society.

‘’A true saint can not remain a silent spectator when something wrong is happening in the society and country,’’ he remarked.

Adityanath said that every work should be dedicated to the country. ‘’We should follow Vedic traditions of India and ensure that it is in accordance with the values of Sanatan Dharma,’’ he added.

The chief minister heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a complete makeover of ‘Kashi’ (the old name of Varanasi), Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency, in the past ten years.

‘’Kashi has changed completely in the past ten years… it now has the world’s biggest ghat (Namo Ghat) on the Ganga… the temples have been renovated… the rail, air, and road connectivity have improved many times,’’ he said.
