They fell in love and after eight years of courtship, got married in 1969. <br /><br />She was elected legislator from the Kottayam constituency in 2001 and she became ill before completing her term. Her husband and three children were at her bedside when she died. <br /><br />Mercy’s body was flown to Kochi and later buried at Ravi’s ancestral home at Vayalar in Alappuzha in the evening.</p>
