<p>Mumbai: <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/israel">Israel </a>described the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, one of the chief conspirators of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai as a “very important step” . </p><p>Chabad House - earlier known as the Nariman House - is located in Colaba Causeway and was one of the targets of the terrorists. </p><p>The six-storey building was run by Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg who belonged to Chabad-Lubavitch, an orthodox Jewish group. </p>.Tahawwur Rana not in custody of US Bureau of Prisons.<p>Though the couple died in the attacks, their son Moshe was saved by his Indian nanny. </p><p>“We thank the Government of India for its efforts in bringing perpetrator of 26/11 Mumbai attacks to justice. We welcome this step towards accountability for the horrific attacks that claimed many lives, including Israelis,” said Reuven Azar, the Ambassador of Israel. </p> .<p>Meanwhile, Mumbai-based Kobbi Shoshani, who is Consul General of Israel to Midwest India said, “After the attacks, I came to India. I was sent by the Minister of Foreign Affairs before my current tenure here, and I still remember entering Nariman House, going to the Taj Mahal Hotel, VT Station, and Leopold Café. </p><p>"I remember that day vividly. I can still smell the gunpowder and recall the darkness and the fear of death in the corridors of Nariman House since 2008. I think today may not be the final closure of the circle, but it is definitely a very important step”.</p><p>“It is a big success to diplomacy, it is a big success to the Modi government. I think it is also very important to the victims and the families of 26/11,” he added. </p>
