<p>On Friday, the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/west-bengal">West Bengal </a>Police arrested the alleged mastermind behind the gherao of seven judicial officers in Malda district, apprehending him at Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri.</p><p>The accused, identified as advocate Mofakkarul Islam, was detained while attempting to board a flight, a senior police officer told <em>PTI</em>.</p><p>“He is the main planner of the Kaliachak incident, in which seven judicial officers were confined for several hours inside a BDO office on Wednesday night. The gherao was reportedly in protest against the alleged deletion of names from the electoral rolls, according to earlier <em>PTI</em> reports.</p>
