Krishi Yantra Mela from tomorrow

Campco, Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Vivekananda Polytechnic, and Puttur and Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union have jointly organised the fourth edition of Krishi Yantra Mela, ‘Dream Home and Dairy Farming’ which will be held from February 23 to 25 in Puttur, Campco president S R Satishchandra said.

He told that Union Minister of State for the Law and Justice and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs P P Chaudhary, will inaugurate the Krishi Yantra Mela -2019 at Vivekananda Engineering college premises on February 23 at 10.30 am. RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhkar Bhat will preside over the inauguration. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, DKMUL President Raviraj Hegde and Dr V V Bhat will be present.

Satishchandra said that the event aims at familiarising farmers to the latest farming technology, Agri-machinery, low-cost house construction models, and dairy farming equipment. The event will feature 154 stalls related to agriculture machinery and dairy farming, 83 stalls on ‘Dream home’, eight automobile stalls, four nurseries, four agriculture-related publishers and seed selling stalls, 20 food stalls, and 20 commercial stalls. A model cow shed with latest dairy farming machines will be put up by Dakshina Kannada Milk Union. 25 areca trees are planted on the venue, for demonstration.

The valedictory programme will be held on February 25 at 4 pm. Campco former president Konkodi Padmanabha will preside over the programme. Puttur MLA Sanjiva Mathandur will be the guest of honour.
