Leopard trapped in cage

A female leopard fell into a trap kept for it at Padubelle Pamboor on Thursday and was later released into the forest.

Residents of Pamboor had reported the sighting of a leopard in their area for the last few days. Hence, the Forest Department officials had placed a cage near the house of Florine Mathias.

The leopard along with its cub were roaming near the quarry inside the forest at Pamboor. A few youth in the region had also encountered a leopard a few days ago. The sighting of the leopard had created fear among the villagers.

The villagers said that the leopard menace has increased in the region. The officials should catch all the leopards, they demanded.
