5. Joe Root (England)

Joe Root has been the fulcrum of England's powerful batting line up so far in this World Cup. He has been a calm and composed figure at the number three position of his team's batting order. Strike rotationand elegant shots have been the hallmark of his batting in this tournament and it has helped him amass 500 runs in 9 matches at an average of 62.50 and a strike rate of 91.74, including two centuries and three half-centuries. His highest score of 107 came against Pakistan in a losing cause.

4. Aaron Finch (Australia)

2. David Warner (Australia)

David Warner's form in the 2019 ICCWorld Cup does not give a hint of the fact that he was serving a one-year ban that ended just before the start of this tournament. Partnering Aaron Finch, he has given Australia devasting opening stands and laid the platform for a subsequent big total.

He has scored 638 runs in 9 matches at an average of 79.75 and a strike rate of 89.48, including three centuries. His highest score so far in thisWorld Cup came against Bangladesh when he smashed a brutal 166 off 147 balls to power his team to a massive score of 381.

In the abscence of Shikhar Dhawan, he has taken up the responsibility of giving his team a solid start, and so far, he has done his job with aplomb.

He became the first batsman ever to score five centuries in a single edition of the World Cup. He has hit centuries versus South Africa, Pakistan, England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. His best innings of the tournament came against Pakistan when he smashed 140 to take India to a mammoth total of 336.
