Maharashtra mega summit: Exhibits recreate magic of state

A grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the legendary Maratha warrior, has been installed at the entrance of an exhibition of the Magnetic Maharashtra mega summit in Mumbai to welcome visitors.

Incidentally, Monday, also marks the birth anniversary of the Shivaji.

Besides, the entrances to the exhibition halls have been modelled on the Gateway of India and Maratha-era forts.

Key ongoing projects like the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train, the Nagpur-Mumbai super-communication expressway, Navi Mumbai International Airport and the Mumbai have also been displayed at the exhibition.

The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has, too, put up a stall to attract tourism-related project and showcase the western Indian state.

"In the dream of making Maharashtra a trillion dollar economy we want to grow at fast pace," Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, adding that it was one of the major events in Mumbai post the February 2016 "Make in India" initiative.

Through a series of exhibits and themes at the MMRDA grounds at the Bandra-Kurla Complex, the Maharashtra governement has showcased the business, financial and industrial capabilities besides giving a feel of the culture and traditions.

The iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, too, has been recreated and a huge poster prompts people to have a closer look.
