Cricket fever grips city restaurants

The month-long cricket mania commenced with the first ball of IPL7 being  bowled at Abu Dhabi. 

The action for now may be at Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah, but the City restaurants have already geared up to provide their customers with the best of food and drinks, specifically named on the cricketers and IPL teams. 

Giant LCD televisions have been installed which coupled with special menu and refreshing beverages aim to provide patrons full value for money and time, apart from a fun feel to every match.  

Lighthouse, at MGF Mall has introduced amazing platters that includes Sehwag Reminder non-vegetarian platter, Dhoni Dhamaal Mezze platter, Master Blaster vegetarian platter, Man of the Match Grilled fish fingers, Super Six Dahi kebab, Gayle Power Pack Dark Rum Chicken , Googlee Gambas Al Ajilo Prawns, Pollard Kofta  Al- Fama along with many other cocktail varieties.

Hard Rock Cafe too has donned a cricketing avatar. 

The cafe has just the right cocktail pitchers like Power Play, Rum Striker, Stumped and Free Hit. Likewise 

Raasta - The Caribbean Lounge in Hauz Khaas Village has introduced special cocktails like Cucumber Coriander Martini and Water Melon Capriosk to their menu, apart from daily offers for diehard cricket fans. 

Harry’s in Khel Gaon Marg has introduced ‘IPL All Star Menu’, an exclusive menu designed for the seventh edition of IPL. The interesting variety of dishes available in the menu includes Kings XI Slider, Devil’s Catch, Upper Crust, Basa Bowl Out, Chinaman Connection, Smokin Appeal, Tempura Bhajji Sliders, Watata Wicket and more.

The icing on the cake is the offer to enjoy a free pint of beer, on ordering any two dishes from the IPL All Star Menu. 

Apart from the exclusive menus, Harry’s will also serve some of their famous signature cocktails and mocktails like Harry’s Old fashioned, Green Lantern, Singapore Sling, Caramel Popcorn Martini, Creamy Chocolatini, Flavored Mist Mojito and many more.

“With the seventh edition of Indian Premier League underway, restaurants across the city are promising stadium-like experience to all the cricket lovers. 

Shifting the game to a foreign venue (UAE) has not affected people’s energy and the 
cricket fans love going to restaurants that are screening the matches to see their favourite team play,” says Vikas Nanda, restaurant manager, Fio Cookhouse, Epicuria, Nehru Place.

“At Fio we are offering a range of schemes for all the cricket lovers.  There are great deals on match favourites like beer buckets, signature cocktails, sangria and LIIT pitchers. 

To test the IQ of the cricket lovers we have also introduced some interesting trivia contests during match times to keep the viewers on their toes, with every correct answer the winner gets a shot, on the house,” informs Vikas. 

Chef Ashish Soni, executive chef, Jaypee Siddharth says, “Lounge bar Tapas has put together a special IPL cocktail menu with drinks especially named after each team. 

We have drinks like Bangalore Royal Challengers Free Hit, Class of Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings’ Beamer,  Amchi Mumbai Indians to Knight Riders of Kolkata and Delhi Daredevils’ Flavour d.”
