Among the plethora of goods laid out, some of the products really caught the eye. Traditional Ajraku and Chuuni block prints in the typical- blues, reds, blacks and whites, carrying motifs similar to those found on old pottery and stone carvings make a classic style statement.

Multi purpose bandhini materials and light sugandha cottons and finely worked kantha sarees are on sale here in pleasing designs and prints.
“In order to appeal to the present day clientele, we have a wide range of ready made garments like, skirts, kurtas as well as soft furnishings to brighten up the home . Saris come in a wide range of designs and fabrics with traditional weaves and our traditional bead work torans are very popular as gifts.” says T V Sudarshan, manager of the exhibition.
Applique work on cushion covers as well as block print furnishings , handcrafted roof coverings and canopies which are typical of the handicrafts of the region are prominently displayed. “I am buying my Christmas gifts here as they are reasonably priced and unusual, before travelling to America. I especially like the vegetable dyes used, the jute bags and products ,the batik pieces which are light and easy to carry as well as the applique and mirror worked wall hangings,” said one lady shopper.
The exhibition is on till December 6 at the Premachandara Kalyana Mahal,2nd Block Jayanagar( near Ashoka Pillar) from 10 am to 9 pm.
