Little ‘me’ time with music

My perfect weekend
Last Updated 04 October 2018, 11:54 IST

Weekends are the days when the rest of the world is outside doing everything they have been longing to do. I, on the other hand, prefer to sit at home and enjoy the comfort of my own solace on my weekend.

My friends aren’t from the industry so the only time I get to meet them is on weekends. We usually hang out at home Friday nights.

My home is usually the place my friends crash at. Even if I have some work, they come in whenever they want and chill there.

If there is a good movie playing, I make sure that I catch it in the theatres.

I’ve never been the kind of person who liked clubbing. I don’t like when there are too many people around. Having said that, the only time I went clubbing was in Malaysia after a show. I guess it wasn’t so bad but it’s not an activity I want to consciously participate in.

Even if I don’t have any work to do, I end up doing something involving music on my day off. It could be anything from singing, composing, writing, programming music or playing the piano. It helps a lot that I don’t think of it as “work”.

Staying fit is very important to me. I make sure that I work out at least four days a week. And by working out, I mean running. A minimum of 5k is what I aim to complete every time I run. Honestly, I would trade anything to work out.

I met a nutritionist a few years ago who helped me understand which foods suit me. I thought it was a great method to approach a healthy lifestyle because you aren’t exactly dieting but just watching what you eat. Thanks to that, even if I am travelling or don’t have access to the food that I want to have, I still know what I can have and take care of myself.

Everybody has their own definitions of a perfect weekend. For me, it’s all about feeling relaxed, not worrying about deadlines, enjoying the company of your family and friends, having good food, watching a movie and most importantly, sleeping (giggles)!

Few of my favourite things

Dancing

Mystery Rooms

Music

Trekking

Knitting.
