Arun KT has launched a project called Dragonflies for Change to help underprivileged children affected by the pandemic. He plans to paint one lakh dragonflies in 100 days.

“Those too young to comprehend the world around them have been forced to give up on their daily meals and education,” he says.

The dragonfly is a symbol of hope and change in many cultures, says the artist, who works from a studio in Indiranagar.

“For Rs 3,000, you sponsor 10 canvases and get a dragonfly painting to keep,” he explains.

He has 50 donation pledges now and is waiting for 1,500 before he starts painting.

The funds will be donated to Child Rights and You after paint and canvas expenses are deducted, he says.

Arun invites people to create dragonflies of their own. “Draw, paint or make a video of a dragonfly and post it on social media under the hashtag #dragonfliesforchange,” he says.
