Synth and retro-wave inspired utopia

Last Updated 19 November 2019, 12:08 IST

Prateek Vatash is a graphic artist whose works are inspired by synth-wave and retro wave music. “These genres set the overall tone of most fo my work. I’ve always been interested in working with spaces, and visualising them in ways that set them apart,” he explains. He was introduced to digital art during high school. “ It gave me a sense of fulfilment, so I took to studying art and design professionally, and have been chasing my passion since,” shares Vatash. His latest work ‘Absolut Utopia’ includes installations and artwork that interpret the ‘Born Colourless’ campaign. “I wanted to use the idea of a utopian space set in the future. I used the idea of colourless in terms of the medium I used, such as water and mirrors. The campaign speaks about a world without bias, judgement; a world which promotes equality, love and peace, which was the essence behind the concept,” he explains. “I am working on a few personal as well as commercial projects that I am very excited about. A few collaborative works are on in the pipeline, as well,” he adds.
