The Asian Curry House attracts crow for it all-veg Southeast Asian food.

The city has many Asian restaurants, but not many that serve vegetarian food exclusively. Owned by The Royale Senate Group, that also owns the famous Shiv Sagar restaurants and The London Curry House, The Asian Curry House is a one-stop destination for those who want to explore the authentic Southeast Asian cuisine in vegetarian.

The casual dining restaurant was buzzing with people when we visited on a weekday night. The dim lighting, comfortable seating, wall art and the open kitchen are sure to set you in the mood for an Asian cruise.

Fascinated by its name, the first thing we ordered was the ‘Rainbow Soup’, a spicy manchow with 7 vegetables. The thick warm soup set the tone for the heavy meal we were to have.

Next stop was starters; we ordered the ‘Three Jewels Bao’, a plate of three varieties of bao — panner, mixed veggies and mushroom and a plate of the asparagus tempura and cream cheese sushi.

The bao that won our taste buds was the paneer one. The other two baos were good, but they lose the battle against the vegetarian’s meat.

Sushi is a speciality at The Asian Curry House, Malleswaram.

I was excited to try the sushi as it was my first time; it is hard to locate a restaurant that serves vegetarian sushi. I tried my hand at using chopsticks and had my first sushi; it was delicious. The mix of flavours left me craving for more.

We ordered the pot noodles with soy garlic sauce for the main course. It was delightful and will surely leave you feeling heavy. To cool ourselves down, we moved to the last course of our fat meal.

‘Asian Smokey Icecream’ is what we ordered. The dessert, serving three of the special flavours of the day, had big scoops of chilli, avocado and coconut flavoured ice cream.

They were all delicious. I, being a spice lover, voted for the chilli ice cream, while the rest of the table gave a thumbs-up for the avocado flavour. It is the must-try dessert if you ever visit the restaurant.

Summing up, The Asian Curry House pulls crowd for its all-veg choice in a cuisine that boasts its non-vegetarian delicacies. The pricing is not heavy on your wallet, and it serves extravagant portions. The plating deserves a special mention; adding to the taste, the food is presented beautifully, making it an Insta-worthy plate. The Asian Curry House should be on the list of the fans of the wholesome Southeast Asian cuisine.
