Resetting for the week ahead - Kubbra Sait

Last Updated 10 May 2018, 15:41 IST

My profession doesn’t give me the luxury of a weekend. I don’t have the stereotypical Friday to Sunday. I consider Mondays to Wednesdays as my weekend.

For me, weekends are all about being as free as possible. It could be anything from relaxing at home to discovering new places. When I’m not travelling for work, I’m either climbing a mountain or trying something new.

I am an avid traveller. Whether I am somewhere for work or not, I like to take advantage of the place I’m at. I even make the shortest break I get into a mini vacation.

In fact, I was in Dubai last weekend and I tried base boarding, flyboarding and even jumped off a plane! I love the adrenaline rush adventure activities give me. I’ll do anything that keeps my adrenaline going.

I believe that weekend is the time when you reset and regain the energy you need for the coming week.

Though I’m from Bengaluru, I live in Mumbai now. I love to head to the supermarket, cook for myself or for my friends.

I like going to the movies on my off days. I like to watch two to three movies back-to-back if possible. Most of my friends don’t tag along with all the movies I want to watch so I end up going alone.

If I get time, I like going on long drives as well. If not, I will have my girlfriends over to my house and we’ll just catch up with some wine.

I don’t get to come to Bengaluru as often as I would like to. So my mom and brother usually end up coming to Mumbai to meet me. If you ask my hobbies, I like hanging out at the beach, reading a book and just chilling. That’s usually the time I get to myself.

Exercising is also an important part of my life. However, I don’t just do the usual workouts available at the gym. Strengthening my mobility, doing yoga and floor exercises are some of the exercises my personal trainer makes me do. I prefer to do a complete holistic workout. There’s also a balancing exercise that I like doing. After all, it’s great to practice that since I’m always wearing heels.

My idea of a perfect weekend is to unwind, relax, be with people I love and have some time to myself. If I have all of that, I don’t care about which part of the world I am in.

I also like hanging out with my cat and cuddling him, even though he doesn’t want me to.

The entertainment industry is so hectic that you don’t get time to reflect on yourself. That’s why I make sure my weekend helps me reset that energy. As long as I don’t have deadlines to meet, no timetable to follow and with lots of food, I can say that I’ve had a perfect weekend.

Few of my favourite things

  • My family
  • My cat
  • Scuba diving
  • House keys
