Suraj is excited about action film

Last Updated 21 September 2018, 12:43 IST

Actor Suraj Gowda always wanted to do an action film. His dream has come true with ‘Lakshmi Thanaya’, which will be directed by Venkatesh Babu.

“The movie aims to impress the masses and classes. It will have something for everyone. The movie will be a commercial entertainer which will have elements like spell-binding action scenes, drama, family sentiments, good music and some interesting dance sequences,” says Suraj.

Unlike experimental films, this will be a cinematic extravaganza, he adds.

The title of the film means ‘son of Lakshmi’. “I play three shades in the film. Transformation of 20 years will be shown on screen. I play Karana, someone who dreams big and hopes to achieve it,” says Suraj.

The shooting for the film should start by November end. Suraj is preparing for his role.

“My look is going to be very striking and different. It will be nothing like what has been seen in my earlier films,” says the actor.

Suraj, who always wanted to act in an action-packed movie, is sure that he will do justice to the role. “I’m a trained kickboxer. I haven’t got a chance to prove my action skills yet and this is my big chance. In ‘Siliconn City’, I did have some chain-snatching sequences, but I have not done anything like this before,” he says.

“I’ve always wanted to work in films on the lines of ‘Wanted’,” he says.

Suraj appreciates director, Venkatesh Babu’s narration skills.

“He had watched ‘Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole’ and loved my character in the film. He was sure that I would be able to fit the role perfectly,” adds Suraj.

The actor believes in big numbers at the box office.

“I want to cater to the larger audience and do films which click with all. I will continue to do roles that challenges me,” he sums up.
