The Lego Movie

2018 is over and it brought with it several great films. Now, with the clocks of 2019 has begun to tick, we bring to you some films to look forward to in the first half of the year.



The third and possibly final entry in the Unbreakable trilogy pits David Dunn (Bruce Willis) against The Beast (James McAvoy) with the eponymous Glass seemingly controlling their every move. What will happen when an unstoppable force meets an unbreakable one? 

Alita: Battle Angel

Based on the classic manga by Yukito Kishiro, this film has been in the making for over a decade. It follows Alita, a cyborg with extraordinary battle prowess as she navigates life in a post-apocalyptic world and tries to fend off several machines out for her head.

The Lego Movie 2

Unlike what its name would suggest, The Lego Movie 2 is the fourth of the hit Lego Movie series. It follows Emmet and his friends as they try to save Brickburg - and the Lego universe from an invading alien force.

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Hiccup has finally become the chief of Burk with Toothless, his trusty Night Fury, by his side. But an outside danger threatens the dragons on the island and his reign - and there’s a potential mate for Toothless? The final entry in the series appears to be a real tear-jerker.

Captain Marvel

A must-watch before the Endgame, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), a human with extraordinary powers, while Earth finds itself in the midst of a war between two alien worlds.



Billy Batson, a troubled 14-year-old orphan, is set up to move into a new foster home - his seventh in a row - with the Vazquez family and their other five foster kids. One day, Billy gets on a subway car and finds himself transported to a different realm where an ancient wizard gives him the power to transform into a godlike adult superhero by uttering the word "Shazam!". Billy and his new foster brother Freddy Freeman must learn what Billy's new powers are and how to use them in order to stop the villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana from wielding powers of his own.


Hellboy (David Harbour), a demon working for the B.P.R.D., fights to save the world from the Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich), who wants to destroy mankind. This film faces several challenges, the least of which being it has to contend against Guillermo Del Toro’s adaptation of the comic book.

Avengers: Endgame

Since the cliffhanger of Infinity War, people have waited with bated breath for the conclusion to the Thanos saga and finally, we enter the Endgame. The Avengers have been reduced to their original numbers, half of all life has been dusted and Thanos has disappeared. How will the Avengers walk away from this one...?

Detective Pikachu

Tim Goodman, a former Pokémon Trainer, finds himself allied with Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) in a quest to find out why his father disappeared - and uncovers a threat to the Pokémon universe at large. Ikue Otani reprises her role as Pikachu for his “pika-pika” voice.

John Wick 3: Parabellum

John Wick, the Baba Yaga returns in his third outing - Exiled by the Continental for killing on the grounds and facing a massive bounty, John must contend with several of his fellow assassins to fight his way out of New York City.


Follow Sir Elton John’s life, from his days as a student at the Royal Academy of Magic to his world-renowned partnership with Bernie Taupin.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

The King of the Monsters, Godzilla, collides with three of his most well-known allies and foes: Rodan, the giant pteranodon; Mothra a goddess monster and Ghidorah, the diabolical three-headed dragon. In the midst of this world-ending threat is Monarch, the organisation that has kept tabs on all four of them - and several more.

Toy Story 4

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that is Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
